Two weekends ago WtU played on Friday, 20th May 2011 at the Liverpool SoundCity Festival! Because we have to much cosmic funky energy coming of the mook mothership we didn’t only play the gig supporting Kid British (thanks for compliments guys and gutted we couldn’t catch ur set), but spontaneously we decided to crash the stage at BUMPER and played main support for Ed Sheeran. POW! WOW!
Therefore, Bumper host Morning Show Presenter Dev of Radio 1 was so surprised by the brass that he announced us as ED Sheeran lol …aww bless…he apologized to us on the following Monday during his show…WOO WTU got mention on Radio 1…Dev we forgive you
And now here some pictures:
and before the gigs The Mook and Collen went for an interview with CALM:
Cheers to the people who were wigglin to the stankh M.Lou of WtU xx
After supporting last year soul singer Rox, WtU are happy to announce that at this year’s Liverpool Sound City Festival we are going to hit the same stage and night as Kid British. POW! For many of us Kid British doesn’t need to be introduced, but for the some who haven’t heard of them yet get on this clip:
So what you need to know is that we play on 20th May 2011 at the Masque (Loft) that’s upstairs. In all the other rooms will be music too…and with the festival wristband you can go anywhere anytime and catch some good music. You even can check on a SoundCity Liverpool smart phone app to plan when, where and which band is playing! WOOOP!
But yeah, 20th May…Upstairs at the Masque. Doors Open: 7pm And WtU’s slot is scheduled at 20.45! More info at: http://www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk
WtU also like to welcome J Taylor and Joshy Slimfast aka The Hemptations again to perform ‘Just the Type of Mood I’m In’ with us. Boss tune that is, yeah!
Sadly, we won’t have our trombonist on stage with us…so if there are any WtU loving-trombonist available that night…get in touch asap! POW!

October 2010! So this is gonna be a slighlty longer post as usual
Let’s rewind We, the Undersigned played 5 gigs in October! 3 were amazing, 1 was fun and 1 we don’t ever to mention it again
Best one so far in WtU life was the main support slot for Youngblood Brass Band! AAA!! Thanks to to the official 84 people who according to the door came to see…but we sure there were more we were able to get more people started to wiggle that night! Thanks to our friends who wacked out/shared the bubbles during the gig was fun to see and a great thing to enjoy.
How about including that deffinitive in our set and WtU organizing a propper one? hmmm…maybe? Yeah?…Come to our gigs so we can raise money for a propper bubble machine
Here a few quotes from people:
“Great arrangement of the brass, sounded really structured and full” Fredo
“What a gig” Ste P
“Never heard you before last night, but was effing amazing!!!” Adam K
But my favourite sentence still is when Youngblood Brass Band were on stage and he said “This next song is for our friends We, the Undersigned” I think he added something else as well but due to the free beer I’ve got that night I can’t really remember but We, the Undersigned are now official friends with Youngblood Brass Band! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
BOOM! Yeah let’s come to the little downside of that gig…There’s always a little bit of adrama before a great show …Soundcheck run really late…but we were able to see Youngblood Soundcheck…best thing ever!!!!!!! WOO! Those guys are amazing if you don’t know ‘em yet…you check them deffo out NOW! POW
Okay finally like 3 hours after we were asked to show up the masque was ready to allow us to set up and soundcheck for 15 minutes…Collen dislocated his shoulder…AAAAA! Put yeah he put it back where it was supposed to…all good again Still with the little soundcheck we had…we had little issues on hearing ourselves and each other on stage…so we just blasted it out and…it worked POW! And yeah note for the next gig: Organize an a soundguy who knows who we like to sound ;-D
So whoever missed that gig you can watch it online!

To made it more halloweenish we opened the set with the main theme of Phantom of the Operaaaaaaa muhaha going in to No Hope for Love. And the people who were there and were like what was that weird thing the devil playing a solo on. Ladies and Gentlemen that was an EWI…electric wind instrument or as I called it in soundcheck my weird electric sax thing ;P

Don’t forget all 9 of us are going to play live at The Masque on FRIDAY 22nd October! At 9pm just before Youngblood Brass Band are about to smash the venue…or hypnotize the crowd by their amazing vibes to smash the venue!! Come as long it’s safe! haha
Ticket via band members (£10) or online (£10 plus booking fee):
Another helpful hand from the promoter, Paula at The Masque Liverpool has given me the opportunity to let you all know what is hot on the unsigned music scene in Liverpool at this current moment in time and give the artists some credit for the great things they are achieving. I’m going to hand it over to Paula now and let her fill you in on the good stuff!
‘There is so much going on in Liverpool at the moment, of all different genres! I’d particularly like to give a shout out to Innuendo and Nicky Talent who are doing loads to support the hip hop scene in the city by, not only gigging, but doing workshops with kids and putting on their own nights.
Of course, there is the very talented KOF who is a shining star for Liverpool right now. Josephine Brown, Laney Murphy, We The Undersigned are doing amazing stuff soul wise.
In terms of indie, there doesn’t get much better than The Temps who are just simply raw and energetic. The Loud are incredible too, as are Apple Cannon, Bow & Arrow (if you’re into the off the wall stuff). Then there are some hidden gems like Dogshow and Apatt.
There’s a good metal scene coming out and the Whiplash nights are definitely worth looking out for.
Acoustic-wise, you cannot miss Ragz or Molly Jones; both put on a really emotional show and are both sirens of that scene at the moment. I’d like to think that the acoustic scene in the city is better than it’s ever been and that some really strong artists are emerging. Delta Maid, for example, should be huge this time next year. Her blues is like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
I feel like I’ve left so many good bands out, but there are just too many to mention!’
If you are around Liverpool get in touch with anyone of the Band via facebook or email Collen: horridreview@hotmail.com or ring me up: 07503924508 or someone elses number of WTU! to get the tickets for £10. Buy ‘em now cause last time they visited Liverpool the venue sold out!
Why should I buy fuckin’ ticket for £10 of you guys? You might be thinking…Here’s the answer!
And you are supporting us as well…The Masque allows us to keep £1 of each ticket we sell! And we only got 25!! So massive LOL on that! But we support Youngblood Brass Band! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Who are The Apples? Best u listen some stuff on youtube or spotify But I think their amaz!!!
But yeah so what’s up??
WtU are beside themselves with euphoria, cos we all love an Israeli funk band called ‘The Apples’, and we have been
asked to support them at the Masque in Liverpool!Woop! The Hat Band have unfortunately had to pull out of this gig, which is a major bummer, but it does mean WtU are now main support!
WtU will be shaking it up in their brass section as some of our members simply can’t be in Liverpool for the gig, so we are gonna strap on ‘The Elementals’ super-phat horns onto our very own Blowbax Brass. woop! So
come along! And ‘The Elementals’ gonna be supporting WtU before! Amaz!
Tickets are £7 and you can buy in advance – which we really
recommend doing! If you like funky music, this is gonna be one gig you
won’t wanna miss.
